CALL FOR ARTISTS

We are in search of an artist to design and complete a mural in the fitness room of The DECO.

This multi-family community with first-level retail space was meticulously designed to reflect Shakopee's rich history, deriving inspiration from the 1920s art deco era. The building's interior features modern and Scandinavian influenced design with navy tones, gold and wood accents.

ENTRY DETAILS

The muralist should plan for an indoor wall approximately 14'-5" long and 14' high

A mural can be defined as activating the entire space allocated to it.

However, this doesn’t mean that all the space has to be “filled”

As part of the entry form, please be prepared to submit 2-3 samples of work

Must be 18 years of age or older

ARTIST ANNOUNCED

The chosen artist will have 3 weeks starting January 25 to complete the mural.

The mural will be unveiled through an in-person and virtual event.

ARTIST PROMOTION

The chosen artist will be compensated and a budget for materials will be allocated and determined during the selection process. The artist will also receive promotion through an unveiling event, artist plaque on the mural wall, and mentioned in social and community outreach. The work will be documented and shared across a variety of social media and website pages to promote The DECO.
